Women in Small Business

Government data reveals that of the 3.3 million small businesses operating in Australia, more than one-third are run by women and that proportion is growing. Recent Australian Bureau of Statistics data shows a 46 per cent rise in the number of female business owners in the last 20 years. Female small business owners represent a formidable economic force that can’t be ignored, just as women made a compolelling presence at the Paris Olympics. Women in Small Business (WISB) is an empowering online magazine and web resource that champions the female entrepreneurial spirit in all its forms and stages. WISB covers the diverse and rich world that is the women in small business ecosystem – influential, inspiring and authentic.
